Tamim Academy would like to welcome you to Portland! We are so excited for every Jewish family that joins the community. We would like to share some helpful information about the Jewish infrastructure, such as, central locations, resources, and websites.
Tamim Academy is located in Northeast Portland and is home to a local Chabad House, and we are just a short 20 minutes drive away from Portland’s larger Jewish infrastructure located in Southwest Portland.
There you will find: Synagogues, additional Educational institutions, a mikvah and The Mittleman Jewish Community Center (MJCC)
Kosher:
For kosher groceries, the nearby Safeway, offers one of the largest selections of kosher-specific products in the area. Other supermarkets, including Trader Joe’s, also carry a variety of commonly available kosher items.
Kosher Eateries
Café at the J — Located inside the Mittleman Jewish Community Center, the café typically serves dairy meals. On Tuesday evenings, fleishig (meat) dinners are offered.

Chabad of SW Portland offers a Jewish preschool, Camp Gan Israel, and Mikveh Shoshana on its campus.
Jewish Oasis – Chabad Downtown
Located downtown, Jewish Oasis offers Judaica, books, music, educational games, and many resources to help enrich Jewish home life.
